Sage & Apple Cider Vinegar Natural Gray Hair Dye

For optimal results, enrich your sage hair rinse with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has the ability to remove any residue build up in the hair, restore the natural pH balance, and it also detangles hair and works as  an amazing conditioner. You can find several types of sage, but garden sage works the best for this purpose.

You will need:

  • Tea kettle
  • Cruet bottle
  • Funnel
  • Bowl
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 handful of fresh sage leaves or 2 tbsp of dried sage
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

Add Sage

If  you use fresh sage, remove the stems and pull them to pieces in order to release their natural oils. Then, simply put them in a bowl.

Make the sage tea

Bring two cups of water to the boil then pour the boiling water over the herbs.

Steep

Steep for about 15-20 minutes and then let it cool.

Tip: If you want to soothe your sore throat, save some of the tea and add a little bit of honey.

Add vinegar

Strain the tea and add it to the vinegar. It is recommended to use a cruet bottle as it allows easier application.

How to use:

Use this rinse after shampooing. You will notice that the vinegar has strong smell, but it is a better option than the chemical dyes.

Repeat this procedure a few times weekly. In a addition to darkening your hair, sage rinse will  also add shine to it!
